For this hospitality project, we were given an outer shell of a building on Bathurst St in Toronto, ON and were required to create a two-storey fine dining restaurant with a bar/lounge . My partner and I collaborated to create a whimsical Spanish fine-dining restaurant that blends both modern and art nouveau design styles. We were very inspired by Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi and his architectural masterpiece - Casa Battlo. The handmade craftmanship and use of organic materials in Gaudi’s art nouveau work inspired us as designers to follow the same principles to create a space that is carefully crafted.
