HEALTHCARE DESIGN PROJECT
The interior design concept for the long-term care home is centered around creating a serene and harmonious environment inspired by Japanese Zen Gardens and Chashitsu (Japanese tea houses). Embracing biophilic design principles, the interior spaces and outdoor zen gardens will be thoughtfully curated to foster residents’ connection with nature, using natural sustainable materials, ample greenery, and calming Japanese elements, like soji screens, to enhance the well-being of residents. Indoor plants will be placed strategically throughout communal spaces, creating a seamless transition between the indoors and outdoors. Bamboo, wood, moss, and stone will be used throughout the interior to bring elements from the surrounding zen gardens into the design.
